Outline of 2019 Changes to New York Medicaid SGD Guidelines

On August 1, 2019, NY Medicaid will begin use of revised SGD guidelines. This webinar will review the changes to the required SLP evaluation, trial and report to allow the transition to the new guidelines be as smooth as possible.

About the Presenter:

Lewis Golinker is the USSAAC Advocacy Director. He is an attorney who has been working to expand and protect access to SGD funding since 1982.

Participants will learn:

  1. the basis for the changed guidelines
  2. changes to the SGD coverage criteria
  3. new eye gaze coverage criteria
  4. changes to the evaluation, trial and reporting requirements
  5. how respond to the new requirements


  • 5 Minutes: Introduction of Speaker, USSAAC and Topic
  • 40 Minutes: Review of the revised SGD coverage criteria, new eyegaze coverage
    criteria, changes to the evaluation, trial, and reporting procedures, and what to
  • 15 Minutes: Q & A

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) CEUs in speech-language pathology and audiology are awarded by the ASHA CE Registry upon receipt of the CEU Participant Form from the ASHA Approved CE Provider, USSAAC. CEU Participant Forms are available onsite at Registration. ASHA CEUs are provided to full registrations. This program is offered for .1 ASHA CEUs (Introductory Level, Professional Area).
